1) How can I get a copy of the Family Tree?

You need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer.
Most people have this, even if they don’t know it.

Go to the page called FAMILY TREE
Click on the link DOWNLOAD THE FAMILY TREE
Click on CHART OF SOLOMON ISAAC AND RIVKA GITEL’S DESCENDANTS

A chart of the family tree should open in Adobe Acrobat Reader. If the chart does not open, you can download the free Adobe Acrobat Reader software by clicking on the link GET ADOBE READER.

Adobe Acrobat Reader is separate software that allows you to save a copy of the tree to your computer or print a copy or search the document. Follow the instructions in the Adobe Reader Help file.

2) How can I find myself on the web site?

The web site does not have search capabilities yet (but I’ll look into adding that!). Your name should be listed in two places.

A) You are listed in the Descendants of Solomon Isaac

Go to the page called FAMILY TREE
Click on the link SOLOMON ISAAC DESCENDANTS
Click on the NAMES INDEX
Scroll down the list until you find your name (women are listed by their maiden names only!)
Click on the word NARRATIVE beside your name. This will take you to a page about your family.
By clicking on highlighted names, you can see information about other family members

B) You are listed in the Downloadable Family Tree

Go to the page called FAMILY TREE
Click on the link DOWNLOAD THE FAMILY TREE
Click on CHART OF SOLOMON ISAAC AND RIVKA GITEL’S DESCENDANTS

A chart of the family tree should open in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
The tools that you use to navigate in Adobe Acrobat Reader depend on the version that you have installed on your computer. In Adobe Acrobat Reader version 6, you can search the document (click on the binocular icon on the tool bar) or use the blue arrows at the bottom of the web site to page through the whole document. There is an index of all names in the family tree at the end of the document.
